Henner is a French group employee benefits provider, active since 1947, and the preferred partner of the Caisse des Français de l’Étranger (the CFE, the French state health fund for citizens abroad) for its expatriate offer. The flagship product, Henner Expat Santé, is available as a top-up to the CFE or as first-euro cover for those who do not want to join the public fund.

Subscription is open from age 18 to 69, extendable to 75 with proof of ongoing work activity, with four coverage zones based on the cost of care in each country. One notable point: Henner does not open subscriptions for residence in the United States or the United Arab Emirates, nor for a handful of countries under embargo.

The care network claims more than 68,000 direct-billing professionals in 196 countries. Maternity is covered after 10 months of membership, dental and optical after 6 months. The CFE top-up requires already being a member of the fund, which has its own waiting period if membership starts late: Henner offers an option to bridge this gap in cover. The company also supports retirees at the end of an expatriation, as the portability of CFE rights makes the transition easier when returning to France.
